Hand carved from locally sourced birch, damaged in winter storms and cut down here in the Scottish Highlands, this large fruit bowl with sculptural painted underside will last a lifetime. The carved feet are irregularly spaced and shaped, giving a different sense of the form from whatever angle it is seen. Layers of white and light blue milk paint are built up and burnished between each coat leaving hints of subtle blue showing through the white. Finished with natural linseed oil, and brought to a shine with beeswax polish.
